K5 blazer to 2WD frame

This has probably been asked before: Will a 72 K5 blazer body bolt right up to a 2WD 72 C10 SWB frame? If not what mods need to be made? Has anyone on the board done this? I've seen a Blazer converted to 2WD, but not a frame swap.

Nope, the Blazer wheelbase is shorter (I think 11 or 14 inches) than the SWB. Also the hump over the rear axle is higher on the Blazer.
I suppose you could splice the front of the Blazer frame to the rear of the SWB frame.

Re: K5 blazer to 2WD frame

A friend of mine did this to build a 2wd blazer. He had to shorten the frame and add the blazer specific body to frame mounts to the frame.

Re: K5 blazer to 2WD frame

I was hoping it wouldn't be too difficult. When I finish this truck I would like to get a blazer. But it seems like the 2WD are much harder to find than 4WD. We'll see what happens between now and then.

Re: K5 blazer to 2WD frame

I would like to do this someday as well. I am going to swap in the suspension and make some perches for the rear coils. For me this will be the easiest route to take.
