Steering column question

I am putting an ididit column in my 67 and i need to know if there is any specific place it should be meaning the distance from the column to the dash dont want to mess up cutting the shaft to short.

It would be best to put it where it feels more comfortable to you.

thanks for the response it doesn't have to be in any special spot for transmission linkages to work properly?
