I've been doing a little work on my frame, this is still in progress but getting there slowly.
Need to finish fabbing the 4 link, weld in the plates around the tubes, tack all bolts through the frame for air bag stuff, battery box, fuel and brake lines then box and clean up the whole thing.

Looks great. Seems to never end though...lol. I am finding that I am still welding and grinding even after I thought i was done.

Thanks guys. I need to stop making changes and just get the truck road ready, but looking at this forum and the great ideas, you know what happens when you see some cool idea....

My project has the same problem. There are a lot of great looking trucks here that have given me too many ideas.

Thanks ChuckDriver, it's a LS1/4L60e combination with the narrowed rearend.
I added cam, heads intake/throttle body and exhaust, so it should run pretty good once I get to driving it.

Nice work. I would suggest boxing in the frame forward of the C notch up to your cross members.

I would have boxed the frame along its entire length.

I will box the frame from just behind the C notch forward, if you look closely I made some plates that will sandwich the tubes, I want to weld the tubes to the inside of the frame than to the plates, then weld the plates to the frame for strength.

i assume from all that fab work your going big block... what cu/ horsepower you planning on running? i'm sure you checked this but i wanted to ask if your cross tube nearest to the trans will clear the drive line when it's all the way down. i noticed my stock cross is very close to the DL and i cant go as low as you can

Mylow53,

I don't intend to go all the way down to ground, however I measured and the tubes has 2.75" of space on top and bottom, the back tube has 3.5" in the center. I'm running a LS1 that's going to be putting out ~400RWHP and ~390RWTQ natrually aspirated, on the juice I should be ~500/540HP/TQ. The real reason I'm doing this is because I filled all the seams inside the cab and was told that would tweek the frame once I started driving it hard.

i really doubt that frame will be twisting now. i love your tube work, i do notice with my original frame, extra flexibility. but even with my 340 hp i haven't noticed any real issues. but at 500 hp all bets are off. i got to be honest my truck ain't no racer and it still surprises me, such a short wheel base and all that power. keep up the good work.
