Shackles/Hangers vs Lowering Leafs
Soon to be lowering my 87 r10. I am going with a 2/4 drop with spindles up front. I was pretty much set on using shackles/hangers in the rear but then I discovered lowered leaf springs.
Western Chassis makes them, available on Sport Truck Direct. I know I will lose some hauling capacity. Not a problem, most I ever haul is a few dirtbikes. I would love a car-like ride when the truck is unloaded and I know the factory leafs won't provide that. Also, being a New England truck, the stock leafs are pretty darn rusty and I am sure the bushings would need replacing. Are the lowering leafs a good option to go with? Would you say they are easier to install than shackles/hangers? Pros/Cons?

Re: Shackles/Hangers vs Lowering Leafs
Yes they would be easier to install. The only person I know of that "had" a set was forum member "Swervin Ervin". He swore that they gave him an awesome ride.
Mike doesn't get on here much any more, but you might be able to dig up some of he old posts and see what he had to say about them.
