Hey guys,

Just wondering if a Full Chrome GMC Front Bumper can be used in the place of a 72 chrome chevy bumper wiht lights in it. Trying to get rid of the lights without welding on this perfectly good bumper!! Thanks for the help!!

Yes they should be interchangeable but the 72 has turn signels on the bumber but you said you want to get rid of them so you should be fine

Sorry they are not interchangible. The 72 Chevy has longer bumper brackets to allow for the front marker lights in the bumper. The 69-72 GMC bumper use the same bumper bracket as the 67-68 witch explains why oldblue1968chevy was able to the 72 GMC bumper on his 68. WES

It won't work but if you need to get rid of the GMC Bumper I am right up the road and can take it off your hands.

doesn't the GMC also have the indents on the top of the bumper for the low grill mounted headlights on the GMC?
and the chevy bumper would have been smooth across the top.

just something to think about.

i put a gmc bumper on my 72 chevy and used the gmc turn signals behind the grill. it really cleaned up the look on the front end

I am literally right down the road from you,

But why not just install a bumper from a 69-70 Chevy? They should be the same minus the turn signals.

69 - 72 GMC bumpers will have a small cut out on the top of the bumper for the turn signals... it'll look kinda dumb.
If it is a 67/68 bumper, then it is the same as the 67 - 70 chevy, and will work fine (brackets swapped with bumper as Wes mentioned)
