Hot august nights...... anyone?

Me and some friends are going to be in reno this year for hot august nights and was wondering if anyone wanted to get together possibly at the a@w? Also I am having a hard time finding a place to stay sooooooo I am looking for a grassy knol, mound of dirt, or kids fort in the tree out back to stay in... So if anyone wants to open there back yard up to a bunch of total strangers for a few days that would be cool.. Anyone anyone?????

Check out some camp grounds up in that area. There are a lot of them, I just don't know them off the top of my head.

My dad just came back from Seattle and stayed in Grant's Pass for a night. I shoulda had him stay in your front yard! HAHA

Re: Hot august nights...... anyone?

going there this weekend for my daughters ASA softball tournament. Paying $31 a night. Funny thing we were in Portland this last weekend. Looked for a campsite for many hours with no luck. All reserved for the fourth of July. Ended up paying over a hundred a night. Holidays and special events jack the prices sky high. Hot august nights room rates are crazy high. Good luck!!

Re: Hot august nights...... anyone?

The Wife and I are going up, (not bringing my 72 though).

Were staying at Boomtown.
They have something similar to a KOA Campground on the site, but I believe its owned/operated by Boomtown.
Right next to the Truckee River. VERY CLEAN PLACE.
Thers a Cabelas Sportings Good Store right there also.
Chevron/Mini Mart/Car Wash and about 4 Resturaunts to choose from inside the Casino!

The Wife and I stayed there back on Mothers Day (under the advice of my Father-in-Law). We stayed in the older South Towers and were dissapointed in the room.
We wanted to stay in the Newly remodeled North Towers with Mountain Views, but they were booked up.
After I got home I wrote and complained about the room,
(with some supporting Photos my Wife took on her cell phone), and sent it to their "Parent Coorporation" (Pinnacle).
Next day I get an e-mail followed by a letter after that with an offer of a
3 DAY STAY IN A NORTH TOWER ROOM FOR FREE !!!

Nice thing is that its EASY Freeway Accses and although its actually out of Downtown Reno "proper", its away from all the Hustle/Bustle, but only a 4 minute drive to Downtown Reno & Hot August Nights!

Looking forward to it!!

Roger
