pulley questions
Well, I took the advice to change my water pump to a short one hoping that this would end my problems. The water pump did make the alt. bracket work and the a/c bracket bolt up, but the pulleys have the big bolt pattern and the water pump has the small bolt pattern, so now I need w/p pulley and crank pulley (3 belt) for a/c, and now my p/s doesn't bolt up to the w/p so I need a bracket for the p/s to the block. I don't know what pulleys (GM number) that I will need. Does anyone have numbers so that I will know when I have found the right ones without putting on and checking alignment of belts?
It seemed that everytime that I fixed one problem, 2 more popped up. I think someone before me put new model stuff on stock engine and I'm about to pull my hair out trying to figure out what was correct and would work on my truck. I need a plan of action that will keep me from stressing out....Any suggestions? HEEELLLLPPPP................ |

Re: pulley questions
On the water pump, just buy the one with 8 threaded holes for both type of pulleys. I just ran into this yesterday on my truck. The O Reilly in stock water pump would not match the pattern on my water pump pulley. We had to order a different pump that had 8 holes in it, the larger set line up with the larger pattern pulley. Just have your parts guy order the one with 8 threaded holes. Mine was 22 dollars including the core price.
