Any Saddle/White Trucks? Please Post Pics
Turns out Ole Blue wasn't always so blue....Some past work on the window regulators and a peeling bedliner has revealed a gold or bronze color paint. All this talk about 50th anniversary trucks got me to thinking about his pedigree so I decided to try and decipher the SPID (not in very good shape). Looks like Saddle/Off White (code 555 or 525, tough to make out).
So, even though he's not a 50th, I'm interested in seeing what this truck may have looked like on the day it drove off the dealer lot in Gorman, Texas. Can anybody help me out with a pic? |

WOW...eagle nice truck!!!! I would have been all over that one at that price!!!! I especially love that diamond plate patio on the back
On second look...ac and split rims...a real survivor. I would get some steel rims drop it and drive it.

Re: Any Saddle/White Trucks? Please Post Pics
Thanks for posting the pics Rob. It's cool to see what my truck looked like originally. As a matter of fact, i'm kind of liking that color scheme for when its time to re-paint.
Question. Are your door emblems the "Custom" in script or are they "CST"? My emblems were missing when I bought the truck and I think they should be the Custom script but I'm not 100% sure. |

Re: Any Saddle/White Trucks? Please Post Pics
Thanks Hartrod. I'll get some pics up as soon as its light enough outside. Just getting my engine put back together. Got it rebuilt to stock specs. Painted it up nice and purty. Still have to rebuild carb and paint exhaust manifolds. Would you have a picture of the engine mount and bracket setup on the driver side for a 68 with power steering. My bracket doesn't seem to fit with the new motor mounts and thats the only angle I didn't get a good picture. Thanks. Jim

Re: Any Saddle/White Trucks? Please Post Pics
Hartrod, nice shortbed. I really like that setup. Mine came this close to getting my 5.3 in it. But I really hated busting up one that was so original and all there.

WOW...you are not wasting any time! Did you already rebuild the tranny and engine or just dress them up? I have repainted those Custom Camper emblems in the past. Nice work!

Re: Any Saddle/White Trucks? Please Post Pics
The engine got rebuilt to stock specs, the tranny I just removed 20 pounds of crud from outside, all new seals and crossing my fingers it works fine. Idrove it 2 blocks and it shifted fine, so i'm giving it a try. Also painted it hammered bronze color.

Cheyenneshop, the grill looks great on your truck. That and the mirrors and roof are my next projects. After that, rockers, and passenger cab corner and cab supports, and battery box and inner fender on passenger side and..... the list goes on. Trying to avoid the frame off restoration right now is hard work. LOL.
