Just traded for a 72' project
I have a major project but it has a lot of potential. A lot of the parts are in boxes and a lot of the parts are missing. So i became a member of this forum to help me in putting it back together.
I am 18 years old and have never worked on a 72' chevy truck. So bare with me. It has a new edelbrock carburetor and I need to look at a picture of how the throttle and passing gear linkage brackets are made and location. Mine are missing. Well mostly everything is missing around the carburetor. So pictures would help. Thanks. Justin |

Re: Just traded for a 72' project
Here it is, this is how I got it with a bunch of other pieces everywhere. Most of the hard work is done. The cab has been taken off and repaired with new cab mounts and rocker panels. I have a almost perfect sleet side bed that is in pieces. The bottom doesn't have one rust hole, one perfect passenger side and a new driver's bedside, it has to be painted though.
I plan on painting the bed and repainting the cab and front-end to suit me. I can paint vehicles and get them really slick. And put it back together and keep it. Last edited by justin_heat05; 07-10-2009 at 09:40 PM. |

Re: Just traded for a 72' project
Welcome to the forum. It's funny when I think about it. I was 18 years old when your truck was built, so I got to drive some of these when they were new. I still think they're the nicest looking trucks that GM or anybody else has ever built, before or since then. Your throttle set up is a simple cable linkage design. You can get a free catalog from LMC truck parts that will have a lot of good diagrams and parts illustrations, as well as other useful information.
Good luck with your project.
