white smoke
Getting white smoke out the tail pipe, quite a bit on a cold start then real light while running. I know moisture can cause white smoke but was wondering about a lean mixture or timming, I have edel 1406 and due to living at 6000' Ive put in leaner rods and jets also been playing with the timming. So I was wondering if I went to lean or somthing besides moisture can cause it

Re: white smoke
It's possible to just have condensation in the mornings when you first start it and then a slighly rich mixture may produce a light gray smoke. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish.
Also, if you are in a cooler climate it's possible the exhaust is condensing. Sort of like a high flying jet. Auto emissions does creat moisture. But, after saying all that, I'd check for bubbles in the radiator when you first start it or have someone leak test it. You my have just a slight head gasket leak. |

Re: white smoke
check the vaccum modulator on the transmission. It is possoible if the diaphram to rupture or leak and trans fluid could be sucked into the motor. It is kinda unusual to have that on start up. Jim
