Amazing '68 C10 from the HUB Garage,...

A buddy called me about this '68. I think these pics were shot at the Columbus Goodguys event.
Could someone with DSL please post some pics of this thing! (dial-up s#cks!)

Here's a link to his HUB page:

I like "most" of what they have done. I love big wheels, but I think the wheels are too big, or the hubcaps are too small.

Hey Ken,... thanks for posting the pics.
This truck may not be for everyone,... but it's a refreshing "new" direction for our classic trucks. It's nice to see someone thinking "outside" the normal "fleetside box".
I'm digging the white bumpers also!

A nice touch is the rear bumper also has the 'rock guards' built into the bumper. headlight bezels frenched is cool as well.

It's funny, but there's another thread somewhere on the board about the large steelies w/hubcaps. I wanted to do this for a while until I saw a truck in person that had something similar done. My 'real time' opinion changed because the larger diameter wheel took away the effect the hubcap was giving because it looked so small in comparison.

For the record . . ...this guys truck rocks.

I like the back of the cab and bed "leaned" forward,... and the bottom edge of the back glass lowered to the same height as the side glass.

Re: Amazing '68 C10 from the HUB Garage,...

I'm not into the big wheel look but the rest of it is nice.I do like the fact that he felt the bumpers could be painted. There are some subtle mods that I see that show craftmanship and forethought.
One thing I noticed is that the bumpers have been tucked(moved closer to the body and moulded in somewhat),thinned trim in the stock style is barely noticeable as different to the uninitiated, and the stock scheme for the paint works with the way the truck was built. Keeping the factory emblems with shaved door handles seems to go from one extreme to the other.I think the guy hit the style he wanted and it is a good looking truck.I do agree about the wheels.Caps are too small for the amount of wheel showing but maybe that is the signature style he wanted.

Nice truck. Not crazy about the license plate stuck in the middle of the tailgate though.

Clean, but... Not my cup o' tea.

Funny thing, the first thought that came to my mind when I saw the rear. Was the back end of a Jeep Commando...

I'm with you, I'd like to see it with the stamped Chevrolet still in the tailgate, and keep the license in the bumper. It would go with the original look (emblems and White bumpers) more.

Some real skill went into that puppy.

I'd roll in that one! I like it--the first sloped hood I really like.
It reminds me of that "rabbit" cartoon movie that had the hot cartoon chick.
My memory sucks!
Seriously, that took some craftmanship that you have to admire.

That's what I love about these trucks - they look great bone a$$ stock, or super duper custom!

This thing will turn some heads for sure. I really appreciate the fabrication work. It obviously took a lot of work & skill!

I would imagine that he knows the purists would have some not so kind thoughts.
Regardless, we are all impressed with the level of skill it took to pull all the subtle changes off. Don't mistake my comments for negative, as I LOVE what he has done. I'm very anal about proportions. While I applaud his intentions with the painted smoothies, they just don't feel right to me.

Re: Amazing '68 C10 from the HUB Garage,...

In person it really is an amazing "how the hell did they pull that off" truck. The fit and finish are incredible.

The only thing that kind of bothered me about it is that it looks better slammed than it does driving around. Then again, I say the same thing about mine. No one yet seems to have perfected the "in the weeds" look while they're driving their ride. If you're going to build them that low, you almost have to raise them up to drive them.

I can't really call that a flaw though. It's a stunning truck.

Does no one realize the rear is slanted like a suburban? Fab work on this truck was very nice. I like the idea of painted bumpers, definitely stood out and Goodguy's thought so as well
