Re: what muffler?

a cherrybomb glass pack is stupidly expensive, a flowmaster super 40 is around 80-90$ a piece and 1 cherrybomb is 150$, trust me, i was gonna get a pair for my new truck

Re: what muffler?

cherry bomb glasspacks for more then 40 bucks or so no way. I seen them in my summit book for like 30-40 and some like flowtech are only 20 or so.

Now the stainless steel ones yea, but reg. no way.

I'd vote for summit chambered for deep tone yet kinda qieut, or go with the cherry bomb extremes for about 50 or 60 each they sound exactly like the flow 40's and are even a bit louder when you get on the gas, I love them.

Re: what muffler?

I've been thinking about running 2 1/4" straight pipes with no mufflers but I'm afraid it'll be way too loud so I've been leaning towards glass packs, and everybody says Cherry Bombs sound the best of the glass packs??

No cat? What will the dogs (f@rds) chase. I prefer the bombs over the flows anyday, especially if you're dumping them any fashion except rear exit. My .02

I've always been a Flowmaster fan, but If you don't want to go with them I would go with the bullets.

Re: what muffler?

If you have long tube headers, glasspacks or bullets will sound good. No offense to those that run this combo, but I don't like the sound of glasspack style mufflers along with manifolds. Flowmasters tend to sound good with manifolds, but it gets even better if you have headers.

Has anybody run the spiral inserts for a street muffler? Here is some from speedway as an example. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedw...fler,1736.html

Hmmm, could be an option when I get the exhaust done on the K20.

Re: what muffler?

Im running 2 summit race mufflers from Summitracing.com on my 77 with a 400. They look and sound the exact same as a flowmaster 40 series but less than half of the price, $28 a piece!

I can try and get a video if you guys want it.

Re: what muffler?

I wondered about those too. Get us a video please!

The spiral ones are supposed to help extract the exhaust and quiet it enough to be legal for racing. I think with the right pipe setup they might work nice on the street. And, they are cheap!
