Xtant 4.4
I can get one from a store here that was rebuilt by the factory - when the original owner bought it, he crossed the positive and negative and smoked it - for 250 bucks. It comes with a 6 month warranty. What do you guys think? Should I get it?

Re: Xtant 4.4
It's an amp, but a discontinued model. Sounds like a nice amp, but I don't know what they were when they were new. Does anyone have an idea?

Re: Xtant 4.4
that is a Lot of money for a discontinued amp... especially one NOt from the golden age of car audio, dan. Especially since the refurbs were selling for $200 4 years ago, and new they were only $400 amps.
I saw one on craigslist Anchorage for $40 (forty) bucks, too. So... no. bad deal. Most mid 90s xtants were good, same with infinitys, Pre 96 PPI Art (or Sedona) pre 98 Fosgate. And even the 20th anniversary A/D/S 640.2 and 840.2 P440.2 and p2110.2, the ph15, ph10, etc. I think i paid $200 shipped for my 640.2 (6x40 rms, 160x3) and $150 shipped for my white no art (dealer demo) watercooled PPI Art a300 (75x2 or 300x1) Vintage gear LASTS, and honestly sounds better than the new Class D/T/Icepower amps, even if it might be less efficient on paper. Sorry for neot seeing this earlier, was on vacation. Last edited by attack eagle; 08-11-2009 at 01:51 PM. |
