Pulling a Serpentine pulley off an alternator??

Ok my turn to ask a queston.

I'm trying to pull the serpentine pulley off an alternator I have and I can't get it to move. It has what appears to be a split ring wedge type of affair inside the pulley to tighten it on the shaft.
The alternator is a 120 amp delco.

Any suggestions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated at the moment.

I believe autozone has a lend a tool puller that could help you. They are free with a returnable deposit. Give em a call and ask.

Ok, I can still make the two miles to the store before they close. There must be some trick to it as I haven't had any luck with normal methods.

There shouldn't be any internal retainer dooey-bobs. I've pulled the pulley off a couple serp. alts. and all I used was a "right-sized" gear puller and a touch of PB Blaster (after removing the 15/16 nut first). The PS Pump pulley is a whole 'nother animal altogether.....but we won't get into that!

The "split ring" is nothing more than a lock washer. The pulley is supposed to slide right off once nut and washer are removed. Good luck to ya.
