New guy in Oregon with 69 LWB
So I finally brought home a LWB. I've wanted one for a long time. Best part, sheetmetal is all good except for the floor pans. And I got it for only $250.
Now with the questions: I'm going to bag it, but don't want or need to drag it. I've decided on D2600s and the SD plates for the front, and a C notch in the rear. However, this is my dilema... I need to be able to tow 5500lbs (trailer and race car) when said and done. This is replacing my 2004 Dakota which towed like a dream with assist bags in the rear. I need to know if a D2600 will support the load, or is there another option? Thanks for any help you guys can provide, I've been reading this forum constantly for weeks and think this is just about the least *****y catty group I've seen! Britt Just realized the typo, it's a 68! Last edited by 122 Vega; 07-19-2009 at 12:34 AM. |

Hey Britt! Let me be the first to welcome you to the forum. I grew up in Hillsboro and used to work at the Les Schwab in Aloha on Shaw street (across the railroad tracks). That area got so darn congested that I had to move to Bend! Once again....welcome.

Too funny! My brother Chase works there, He's going on 17 years now I think! He Worked at the Canyon Road store up until about 4 years ago. There was another guy named Matt D. that had a 69ish SWB that worked there too.
I've been watching your build thread, very impressed. Britt |

Re: New guy in Oregon with 69 LWB
Let me be the 2nd. guy to welcome you to the board. I also grew up in Hillsboro across the street from Glencoe H.S. (before the school was there) and then Forest Grove! Krikee, has that area grown in the last 15 years! I'm out here on the other side of Cornelius Pass in St.Helens now (a.k.a. "Banjo County).
I'm diggin' the new ride- it's a killer deal for $250. I don't know much about the bags, but if you need to tow a race car- have you considered a 3/5 static drop with bag assist for when you have the trailer hitched up? Again, welcome from another Oregonian.

Isn't the manager's name Darrell? I worked for the company from 82-91. Seems like forever. I prefer pushing a pen now!

Pizza Vendor is a mom and pop kind of place that makes great low cost pizza in Scappoose. Down behind the cop shop. Sounds like maybe we will have to do a meet up out there sometime. I will have to do a bit of work to the truck, but we have a 65 Mustang we could bring too! Britt |
