Is This Too Much to Spend on a Steering Wheel?
I was trying to find a mint 3-spoke wood steering wheel for my truck when I came across this.....I'm thinking about pulling the trigger....Someone stop me!....JK..LOL
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/69-CH...5%3A1%7C39%3A1 I guess its not even the $5k that has me in shock....its the gall to ask the buyer to pay an additional $22 for shipping!....aargh!

Re: Is This Too Much to Spend on a Steering Wheel?
To answer your question. YES that is insane!!!
I would be afraid to touch it!!! But if you have the money, and you really want it, I guess its your money. But I would ask for free shipping.

You could buy a pretty nice truck for the price of that.

I have several 9mm hand guns which one do you want me to pull the trigger on. No that price is a joke, I know I would never touch it.

Re: Is This Too Much to Spend on a Steering Wheel?
this is why a lot of us play with trucks instead of camaros and chevelles.
Hell, you could almost get a NOS TRUCK for that. (I know... but it sounded good though) |

Re: Is This Too Much to Spend on a Steering Wheel?
It`s worth about 1/4 of that. They go for $500-$800 in excellent condition.Even a high dollar car isn`t worthy of a $5,000 steering wheel. It`s aluminum and wood. There`s nothing to restoring either one. So,I don`t see it having such a value as this seller wants.I want $5,000 for all my steering wheels too.

Re: Is This Too Much to Spend on a Steering Wheel?
He says; "If you buy it now I will pick it up and ship it really fast!" I bet he will. He wouldn't want to give you time to back out of this ridicoulous deal.
On my cuda challenger forum they linked it up to a guy that wanted $15,000 dollars for a set of 71 cuda doors. In reality they were propably worth about $600. These guys watch Barrett Jackson and think that all cars and parts sell for these ridicoulous prices. |

Re: Is This Too Much to Spend on a Steering Wheel?
That guys smokin' crack. This NOS stuff is getting out of hand. I totally understand the worth of some of these parts. I bought NOS fenders for my 72 a while ago and believe me, they werent cheap. But $5000 for a steering wheel, you've got to be kidding me. I hope he drops it while re-boxing it and cant sell it after it breaks.

Re: Is This Too Much to Spend on a Steering Wheel?
HeeeHeeeHeee...I can buy one, just as nice for 200.00 (been sitting on the service station shelf up the street for 25 years), I won't because it is not what came on a pick-up, It's deeper than a P/U....But if it is worth even 10% of that, well I just might have to pick it up.
This is the same guy who had a 1969 4 speed 427 convertible Corvette that sat in front uncovered for the last 20 years with the top down...he just sold it for 5,000.00, WAY too rusty for anything but parts in my "not-so-expert" opinion.

Re: Is This Too Much to Spend on a Steering Wheel?
If you have a $500,000 ZL1 that needs the FINAL piece, buy it! If you want to wrap your greasy fingers around it on your daily driver buy a repop for $300. LOL!

Re: Is This Too Much to Spend on a Steering Wheel?
Think of it this way...All they gotta' do is occasionally find one guy willing to pay a ridiculous amount for a part and they make a killing! I know parts are often hard to find, but that's crazy!! Hmmmmm, wonder how hard it would be to make a few of those???

Not only that, but unibody cars and small engine compartments suck to work on. Had camaros for years, and I converted.
