converting to H4 headlights..question
i'm in the process of converting my headlights to the H4's...(well the stock 4 headlight front end that is),
the problem i'm having is..all the H4's bulb's are 3 prong, and my factory harness plugs are only 2 prong any idea's on how to get this to work? i called ipcw, and they told me that they thought all stock headlights were 3 prong plugs, so that dont help at all, and they told me to just call my local parts store, they should have an adapter...which i did,...they told me they never heard of such a thing..now i'm scratching my head i know there's "bound" to be someone or several on here that have done this already, i searched but didnt find what i was really needing thanks guys

Re: converting to H4 headlights..question
The H4's i got from LMC truck came wiht adapters that only had the two prongs to plug into the factory harness. I believe they can be ordered seperately from LMC truck as well, but I dont have the catalog on me.

Re: converting to H4 headlights..question
You have 4 top lights and 0 bottom lights. Typically the top lights are a dual fillament bulb (high and low beam) whereas the bottoms are high beam only thus only two prongs.

Ding, ding, ding! Folks, we have a winner! The three prong bulbs are dual element, two prong are single element.

Re: converting to H4 headlights..question
.....so...here's what i'm thinking...i know this may be a dumb question, but....
what if, i bent down the extra third prong on the bulb, and just plugged it into my (2-prong) harness? wouldnt that work? i went to auto zone and looked at the stock bulb replacements, and i couldnt find any halogen bulbs that had 2-prongs

Re: converting to H4 headlights..question
autozone h1
autozone h4 autozone h7 you may look at these. i had h1 high beams and they are 1 wire if my memory is right the bulb housing had a spade to ground it to. the h7 bulb has 2 prongs but i dont know if it will fit your housing. the h1 bulbs also can be bought with a one wire pigtail like for a large flash light. they work to and can be bought ove 130 watt. i had 60 watt h4s and 100 watt h1s. the person who put these in did not cut the harnes just made small pig tails to connect them.

Re: converting to H4 headlights..question
can you just wire the high beam from the h4 to your 2 prong harness?

Re: converting to H4 headlights..question
Make sure you use a headlight relay kit with the lights it helps take a load off and your lights work better.

have "you" done this before? i was curious b/c the last pic of the red truck with the cowl hood doesnt look like he has the bottom park light in there....just a quick look at mine this morning, makes me wander if the park lights might not stick out too much for the phantom to fit....guess i'll have to just get in there and give it a shot and find out that pic of the tan/red truck looks darnnnnn gooooood
