WOW! That`s amazing.Makes you wonder why he bought it if he only used it that much in all those years.Must have had a lemon a/c compressor for the bearing to go up with barely being used.

Factory 350 V8, TH400 combo. Was that was offered? I do not think it was, but I could be wrong.

Re: ORIGINAL 1972 CHEVROLET C 20 10,000 MI - $10500 (Churdan, IA.)
I was looking at it and made contact with the guy. It appears to be a low hump floor (350 trans) and the original white seat looks to be recovered in black vinyl. Also looked to be a highlander package since it has black carpet on a Custom Deluxe but I haven't seen the glove box label. The aftermarket wheels were touched up white and over sprayed white on the lugs and center hubs so I was a little disappointed on the seat and a few other mods if it were a true 10k survivor truck. I was seriously thinking about it but not sure I need another C20. Mark

I have a low hump with a 350 and a TH400. I believe big blocks with a TH400 got the high hump.

Not having the original seat upholstry always sets off alarm bells. Also, it seems it was used enough to justify installing a camper shell and replacing the original wheels.

10k in nearly 40 years - sitting without running will kill an AC compressor. I'm thinking the frozen compressor will help verify the 10k on the odometer.

Re: ORIGINAL 1972 CHEVROLET C 20 10,000 MI - $10500 (Churdan, IA.)
I'm curious...if this was a C10 verses a C20...how much would the value or desirability change?

Re: ORIGINAL 1972 CHEVROLET C 20 10,000 MI - $10500 (Churdan, IA.)
Lots of variables produce many different results in wear and tear over a 38+ year life of a vehicle no doubt.
The seat thing is a bit of a throw off though. I did own a 69 C-10 low hump with the original 350/400 TH also. I currently own a virtually rust free 70 C-20 with all original paint and just a couple little crumbs of rust in one cab corner that came off a farm in Southern Illinois and it has just over 100k on the odo but that doesnt mean this guys truck isnt the real thing. |

I just couldn't pass this up and the old guy has all the documentation and stories on everything since day 1. It comes home this weekend on the back of my trailer.
This will be the lowest mile 67-72 I have ever had.

Re: ORIGINAL 1972 CHEVROLET C 20 10,000 MI - $10500 (Churdan, IA.)
He says the original seat is perfect he had just thought it was too bright with that plaid Highlander plaid insert so he had black leather installed over the original cover. We'll see. He said the seat belts were never used and are still tucked under the seat. I couldn't believe it never had a second tank or extra antenna holes or mike handle mount drilled anywhere in it. Claims to have all the original bias tires and hubcaps too for it. He says the truck has never been out in daylight or even rained on but very few times as it was limited to a few camping trips only. I just couldnt pass it up. It's hopefully good enough to be a true "original paint survivor". Mark

Re: ORIGINAL 1972 CHEVROLET C 20 10,000 MI - $10500 (Churdan, IA.)
This is unbelievably an original survivor even original tires and hubcaps with it. This is probably its second trip ever on a transport! This was midway on the way home today from its years of a dark shed.
This is the ultimate barn find if that's what you call it these days.
