Saturday pics (7-25) Cleveland and some other bits...

Hey guys! Kinda had a busy day and tried to drag the camera around with me everywhere I went. Lets see if I found anything of merit!

I had purchased a new set of tires for a project that was sold before I ever really started on it...so those tires ended up being slated for the "see ten".

The ever popular hover truck option...

I laughed at the first guy ever saw using a wheelbarrow as a roll around toolbox...Now I realize how smart he was.

Just before unloading after our successful trip to the tire store. The pucker factor was pretty high while I was watching the tech swap my tires out. The shop manager assured me that they could swap my tires without damaging my wheels...I told him that it would cost over $700 per wheel to replace them if they were damaged and he didn't bat an eye. Told me no problem...Fortunately he was correct, they pulled it off without a hitch...but I'd be lying if I told you that I wasn't nervous!

Later, I cruised up to Cleveland with a bud to check out their cruise-in. It's a pretty good one that brings out a lot of cars.

Saw this extremely well detailed burb.

Cool lil cruiser...

Nother burb...

Interesting tailpipe in front of the rear tire...

I had taken a shot of this custom job during one of the rod runs in Pigeon Forge and had been asked for some more shots of it.

Re: Saturday pics (7-25) Cleveland and some other bits...

Cool ford...

With a cool mill...

Very G-machine-esque...

Our weapon of choice for the evening!

The 54 has started having carb issues. It's got to where sometimes it wants to bog down while accelerating and loads up at an idle. Other times it seems to run just perfectly...Seems like the hotter it is outside the worse it runs. If anyone has a clue feel free to jump in here with any advice. The carb is an Edelbrock 1406.

Remember my post about my brother stepping on the snake? Well, he's still holding his own and has had some tissue removed from his toe. He's still going to have more follow up treatments at the "wound center". All in all I guess he's doing pretty good.

I'm not sure, but I think I stepped on something when I got out of the car tonight...

I heard something making some noise and looked down and saw this brown bat. I really don't know if I stepped on it or if it was already there. I tried to encourage it to fly away but it appears to be in no hurry to leave. I can't tell if it's injured or not....but my plans are to leave it where it lies until morning. If it leaves under it's own power during the night...great...if it passes away I'll dispose of it.

I really hope it's not injured...Bats need friends too! (yes I used to do a bit of caving years ago ).

Great pics as always...someday the Circuit Rider will rise from the ashes of restoration to the glory it once knew. When I said it would be 4-6 months to complete the resto you all laughed...I now understand. It is going on 16months but soon...very soon.

Re: Saturday pics (7-25) Cleveland and some other bits...

I'm glad you guys are diggin the pics as much as I do sharing them with you!

I didn't take any shots with the new rubber on the truck although I probably should since I kinda polished at the wheels a smidge.

I'd really like to have a 59 Impala but the odds are I'd have to sell two or three of the ones I already have to fund it! After recently upping the insurance coverage on the 54 we've reached an interesting milestone.... Our cars (keep in mind there's six of them) are worth as much as our home. And the cars are all paid for...and the home isn't. That's got to be a new Foxworthy joke in the making! The wife says that it's time to move!

I also went out to check on the little brown bat this morning and I was relieved to see he wasn't where I had left him lying last night. After checking the surrounding area I found he had decided to roost on the side of the large wooden block that we use for a parking scotch for the 54. I was afraid that he might get kicked/stepped on or climb the tire (and be crushed for sure). I donned some welding gloves and picked up the block and moved him to a cinder block that I tucked under a cypress tree in the back yard. I left him for a while and when I returned he had attached himself to a limb of the tree. I am afraid that he's injured, but maybe he'll pull through.

Great stuff, my favorite was the '59 Impala. Simply stunning, and Red always seems to be the best color on those old Impalas. Thanks for sharing!

Pull the top off and check for sticky floats, while its off make sure all the screws in there are tight. Just had one running like crap all the screws were loose. Pulled the lid, tightened them up and bam ran perfect.

Thanks guys!

It's nearly dusk here so I went out to check on the bat. He's left the spot where I had him roosting this morning so I'd like to think that he's back on the job!

Oh you're a bad man.
You come to my cruise-in and I'm half a state away!
Cleveland always has a good showing.
I'm thinking about planning a board meet around the first cruise of the year.
Good to have you back, Asa.
