Ok I have a 70 swb 2 wheel drive. I assuming that it had a inline 6 with the muncie 4 spd. I have been having troubles finding the clutch linkage assembly. I finally found the linkages out of a 70 3/4ton that is two wheel drive. I was in a hurry and forgot to ck out where the postion of eng and bell housing were. It did have a two piece driveshaft though I noticed. Of course I put it in today and it is still coming up short to the shift fork. It's about 4 in short or so, looks like it might have to move the bell housing up to next holes (if thats correct?). If that is the case, looks like a new drive shaft if going to be needed. What is going on here, anybody have an answer for me or even better some pictures. Sorry I don't have any pics, but if needed maybe I can get some loaded up from my phone this week. Eng mounts are in the rear position currently.

If you are using the I-6 engine stands with a V-8, that could account for the difference.

I changed over a I-6 for a v8 but it was an automaticI left it in the rear holes but the fan shroud was too short so I used a 4X4 shroud. The V8 is in the forward holes and I think it uses the same mount. If you are short by 4 inches and do not want to mess with engine position you should have a threaded hole on the engine block which is located about even with the bell crank position on the frame. The ball should be removable on the 6 clinder bracket and should have the same threads as the engine block. Be sure to check the width between the engine and frame so that your bellcrank( cross shaft) will not fall out.
