Can anybody help I.D. my truck's color?

As a few of you know, I received this truck from the original owner with less than 45'000 miles on it and the original paint still shines!!!! I have been trying to find out what color this is, but so far to no avail. It seems to be a rare color option, but I could be wrong and not looking in the right places. In person, it is a very salmon pink color. Some might call it coral. Don't mind the dents, the p.o. rolled it on it's side with an overhead camper on it sometime in the '70's. What a ride that must have been!!

I suppose that Coral Pink could be it. I am hoping Factorystock can chime in with all kinds of wonderful info too!!!

Re: Can anybody help I.D. my truck's color?

The official color name is Palomino Tan, a GMC exclusive color from 1962 to 1968. Similar earthtone colors were popular in the late 50's and early 60's. Many people refer to it as the "salmon color". Trucks having the original paint still in good condition are the preverbial "needle in the haystack" . Congratulations on finding a great original owner truck.

here is a beat one in the yard near here:
I'm going to salvage a cowl panel, so I can color match it someday.

there is a real nice 456 bbw that is this color on a farm around here, I need to go ask about it before it disappears.

Re: Can anybody help I.D. my truck's color?

AH! Thanks Factorystock! I knew you'd have it! Either you or Aero! Trying to find the ACTUAL name has been a p.i.a! And Jonz, my pickup was actually more oxidized than that when I got it. That shine is the product of 8 hours of hand rubbing!! There was a guy out in Nampa, ID that has/had a '63 GMC Custom cab in the same color which was in great condition. The driver side was hit pretty bad in the front door pillar. The door, fender, hood and windshield were junk on that side, but all of the pass. side parts and the bed were pristine!!! I wanted to swap it all over to mine and rub it out to match. Then I would have an arrow straight truck with shiny original paint! He was some kind of tweeker or something though and wouldn't call to entertain my offer. The truck has been moved, so I have to track it down all over again!
