Re: Show me your Hydoboost brake conversion
I was hoping someone here could walk me through a conversion from 81-87. I might drop some cash on a complete kit who knows.

Re: Show me your Hydoboost brake conversion
Check out the latest issue of Classic or Custom Classic Trucks. They did the Wilwood 14/13 and hydroboost. It is pretty straight forward you just have to get the hoses and a T in for the power steering along with the proper length rod.

Re: Show me your Hydoboost brake conversion
I have hydroboost on my K35..I tell ya they are some hard brakes to mash down on with your feet, but you make up for it when you fill the bed with 4 yards of fill......just go to a jyard.....you'll see all you need.....i have pics but i'm not advanced enough to scale down the camera pixel size in a speedy manner....

You may want to double check to make sure these part numbers are accurate before you start buying parts. Also, I ended up using stainless steel brake hoses at the front calipers and the rear frame to axle. Note this list does not include the power steering pump. The '00 Vortec 7400 engine I put in my truck already had a hydroboost power steering pump on it, so I did not need one. But one problem I had is the 366630 hose I listed above did not work with my pump, so I had to build my own custom hose. Also, the hydroboost listed above has a six studs to mount it to the firewall. My vacuum booster only had four. So I had to knock out 2 of the studs to bolt it up. I also had to modify the push rod that attaches to the brake pedal. If I recall correctly, the hole in the pushrod was bigger than the pivot stud on the brake pedal. Another note, I am on my 3rd master cylinder. The first one I bought was a reman. It leaked immediately, so I exchanged it for another under lifetime warranty. The second one lasted about 2 weeks before it started leaking. So I bought a brand new one, it is holding up so far.
