Emblems???

I just noticed this the other day. Is this right for 69? The 350 emblem is under the Custom/10 emblem. I was just looking at some of the recent posts and most were 71 & 72 and they have the 350 under the marker light. Is my 69 right and they moved them in 71?

This truck has been painted and some crappie body work so was wondering.

My '69 was like that until I replaced the fenders.

Re: Emblems???

You engine CID badge is in the correct location for 69/70, but your model badge should be "C/10". The "Custom/10" was a 71/72 emblem.

I disagree. I just checked the photos of my '69 and the fender has the Custom/10 above the engine designator. The grey primer truck and the black truck are both '69's and are Custom/10's. The white truck is a one-owner '69 and is a C/10.

Re: Emblems???

The parts books show the Custom/10 to be a 69-72 emblem, so perhaps I'm wrong, but all the 69/70 trucks (many) I've bought/parted had C/10 style emblems. Keep in mind they may label them 69-72 because the stud spacing is the same and they'll fit a 69/70 OE fender.

I was going to ask about the pin spacing next sense you said that. But, I see others with the Custom/10 badge.

Re: Emblems???

So those 69/70 owners with "Custom/10" style emblems have the RPO for "Custom Convenience and appearance" on thier SPIDS?

Re: Emblems???

From the little I know, there is a difference between C/10 and Custom/10. I'm lost when it comes to what year emblem you have though.

I think in 69-70 they had 3 trim levels the base model C/10 was the base the Custom was the mid level and CST was the high level and i think they all came in 10 20 and 30 even the CST did I think

Re: Emblems???

I'll agree with CPNE, I believe 69/70 chevy trucks were badged C/10,20,30 with the CST being at the top, Custom Sports Truck. The 71-72 models were badged as Custom 10, 20 or 30 with the loaded trucks being Cheyenne package and the top of the line being the "Super". My 2 cents...

Re: Emblems???

69-70 recieved c-10 -plain jane trucks for most part. Mid level was the Custom 10- did recieve custom comfort convenience package, top of line CST which would become Cheyenne in 1971.

1971 lowest level available was custom 10, followed by custom deluxe (highlander package in three levels of options appeared in late 72 to move trucks for next model run)Cheyenne replaced CST and is often labelled especiallyin early cheyennes as Custom Sport Truck on the spid and the Cheyenne Super which was released in April of 1971 to help move vehicles and consisted of woodgrain dash pieces also in 71 a super had a true chromed tailgate handle which was replaced in 72 with a stainless slip on cover.

Re: Emblems???

69/70 C/10 = 71/72 Custom/10

69/70 Custom/10 = 71/72 Custom Deluxe/10

69/70 CST/10 = 71/72 Cheyenne/10

In`71 the Custom Deluxe and Cheyenne Super being added required two add-on badges,Deluxe and Super, placed under the model badges where the 69/70 engine option designates were placed. So,in 71/72 the engine designates were moved to under the front side marker.

So, My 69 is a higher optioned truck then my 71.

My 71. It's hard to tell but it does say Custom/10

The 69 clip is on my 71 now. So, it's still a low optioned truck.

The Custom/10 badge downgraded itself by jumping off the 69 and onto the 71. LOL
