For those that live where bugs are a problem, you know how much of a PITA they can be to get off of the front of a vehicle. There are "tar & bug remover" products out there but the best I've found by far is "Spray 9". Spray it on and power wash off and the bugs and all remnants just melt away. I have been useing it for years and have not experienced any adverse affects to chrome or paint. I've even sprayed it on the stacks of my trucks when they were still hot and, the stuff dries on contact buy still works. You can spray it on and wash right away or leave it 'till it dries, doesn't seem to matter. I don't leave it on paint too long, just to be safe. Spray 9 is also excellent for tires and floor mats. Spray it on and power wash off and it makes the black BLACK and the white letters bright white. It won't make them SHINEY like armour-all but makes them nice clean black & white. Same effect you get if you go at your tires with a scouring pad but without the effort.

P.S. I think it says on the bottle that Spray 9 is corrosive so I'm am always sure to rinse thoroughly.

Great addition Northern Lights! I have used several bug and tar removers without many issues along the way. Generally if I'm washing my DD, if you pre-wash the vehicle, come back with soap, and rinse they will blast right off. But, there are times where those pesky things just won't budge.

I will have to look for this product to see if it's available in the states.

something else that works really great is a dryer anti-static sheet. (bounce)
It was taught to me by a high end auto-detailer years ago. get it a little wet and it will take off the bugs and is safe for paint/chrome etc, and it's not a nasty chemical.
I don't know how it works, but it works great.

I never would have, but in love bug season it's the best thing in the world.... I keep them in my car when I'm doing highway driving during bug season!

try it out, you'll be shocked....
I like it cause it's not caustic in anyway. I have to limit what kinds of stuff contacts my skin just because of my work(using resins, epoxies, RTV rubber etc.
I figure the less nasty stuff around me, the better.

That is exactly what I use specially on my motorcycles when riding in the back country roads those little bastards just love the fron of my harley

I live in one of the worst bug areas in No Cal. I found if I spray Windex "All Surface" on the front of my truck and wait about a minute all the dead bugs come right off. You have to be careful what you use as real strong stuff will remove the wax from the surface. I'm pretty sure that the Windex is fairly mild. (No petroleum distillates) Just my .02

When living in NC, I used WD-40 to remove bug remnants from the front of the truck....however it also removed the wax.

Spray 9 is available all over here. Grocery stores, wal mart, etc.
