IF I PUT A 3 INCH DROP IN THE BACK AND A 2 INCH DROP IN THE FRONT ALL WITH SPRINGS ONLY . WILL I HAVE TO CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE LIKE SHOCK RELOCATORS IN THE REAR? OR ANYTHING ELSE? THANKS, DAN

You could put a 2 1/2" block in the rear, & that wouldnt affect shock lenght or angles.......but with a 2 " drop up front, it wont give that level stance that you are looking for.

Just a comment on the 2 1/2 block idea..I just put a 2" block on my 64. It lowers it real nice but you are dropping the suspension dangerously low. ie the scrub line. If you have suspension parts ( the shocks or ubolts lower than the wheel rim this is dangerous..and illegal in my area...

Our64 or anyone, would a 2 or 2.5 inch block create any problems with 17 inch wheels?
I am not familiar with blocks. Can anyone post some pictures and explain a little more to me? Also, can they be homemade?

You might be ok with the larger wheels. As I said my 2" blocks just clear, that is with 15" wheels. I have used blocks on my street rod for years without problem. Some guys will say on the coils it hangs low and looks bad. I agree to some extent but until I can afford new coils, it helps the truck sit real nice. I have always made my own with 2" - 1/4 thick steel and welded end plates on so they look better, and stronger. I am attempting to add a picture but dont seem to be having any luck...CAN ANYBODY HELP.. I browse until I have the picture in the box but when I submit the message the pics are never there. If you email me I will gladly send you pictures, just took a couple for you streetrod@mts.net

Just to add...You probaly alreasy figured it out but you will need longer u bolts. I get mine done at a local spring shop for about $ 8.00 a piece with nuts, thats gota be about $ 1.50 in US cash for you guys..HA HA. The part that will make contact with the road ( if the tires became flat ) will be of course the end of the bolt. Thats if your scrub line is too low. ( thats the safety issue) If yours doesnt with the 17" wheels you are good to go

I see says the blind man! That does look d@mn close with a 2" block.....the nuts have to be about 3/4" long. It looks like the shock brackets are down there pretty good also.......

Hi Jared, another Winnipeger, I cant believe it. I am working on a 64 short box. I a,m currently working on the chassis. Disc brakes, 5 bolt axles, steering etc. I don't use my vehic much in the winter so this ones a daily driver. Its in decent shape. Body will only need a bit of floor work and possibly rockers. I am gona replace the springs with a 2/4 drop once I get it on the road and work out the kinks. I was working on the electical today, even with the heat on it was dam cold > This weather is NUTS!! I am currently running the 6 and 3 speed, but will be looking for a rust bucket with a solid small block and auto. Sorry I dont have any pics. My computer crashed and I lost them all DAM. I will be taking some more shortly and will post them. I will post a picture of my street rod, a 38 Ford.. Sorry Guys I know its a CHEVY board, but it is Chevy powered. Maybe you have seen it around the corral. .. So what are you building? and I would love to see some pics

Where was that picture taken, thats a sweet ride, and atleast it's got the heart of a chevy!

I kicked around just about every sunday at the pony, but i was always sporting my second vehicle, not exactly a show car...yet!

I've been working on my 67C10 that was a graduation gift, and now that i'm back in school so progress is very slooooooooowww due to lack of money. This is the most recent pic, as you can see it was a while ago! And unfortunatley it won't be back on the road this summer unless I win the lotto

Hopefully by next spring, those rice rocket drivers are going to be hiding in fear!! Yeah, I HATE RICE!
