Third Brake Light Ideas
Lets see yours! Mounted in the back window, top of front bed rail, in the tail gate or???? I saw a 4wd to day that had one mounted just below the tailgate, sits high enough that most cars will be at eye level. Don't really want to cut into the cab. Thanks.

Re: Third Brake Light Ideas
I've been attempting to figure out something for the 48 that will be discrete until it comes on.
With a lot of the newer cars having thin led strips for third brake lights it shouldn't be hard to come up with something that blends in and doesn't stick out when it isn't on. I have been thinking that someone should figure out how to put red leds in one of the bed lights that are on the back of some 67/72 trucks. I'll have to figure that out when I redo the 71. |

Re: Third Brake Light Ideas
I used one from Watons street works. It is 7.5 long but only .25" thick. I will try to find a picture of the install. You clear right over the lens so that it smooth and looks like it is part of the body. I mounted it under the rear window.
http://www.watsons-streetworks.com/l...ke_lights.html The model number is #L58SMB-SK It has a clear lens and red LEDs. I thought that the price was good as well. Marc Last edited by youngrodder; 08-01-2009 at 09:19 PM. |

Re: Third Brake Light Ideas
Here is mine out of a 2002 Silverado. It's not LED but I'm OK with that, I like the cargo light option.

Re: Third Brake Light Ideas
Good ideas. Thanks for the Watson link, it gives me some ideas. Mr48chev look at it they see LED lights separately so you could do the conversion. I am also trying to figure out the cargo/bed lights too, I spend a lot of time backing up in the boonies in the dark and need all the help I can get.
Keep the ideas coming....
