hood release cable broke today

so much for my plans to work on the engine. hoping to find away to get it open without breaking the new grille. damn.

and now i really wish i had installed hood pins instead.

ya know. you should talk to sillyoldman about what he uses with his hood. it is really trick! its like a lock and it dis arms the motor some how. but it is really cool and slick!

Re: hood release cable broke today

on mine, i used a big screwdriver to pry the hood up a bit, high enough to get a block under it, then use a swivel 1/2 inch on an extension and took the bolts out for the latch, just be careful not to chip your paint,hope this helps

A little off topic, but has anyone ever used a longer cable? That way you could hide it in the fender instead of running on the inner fender to the core support?
