Need Help C notching my truck
I just got my old coil springs off and there is a plate rivited to the frame. Is there any problem with just cutting the rivets off and doing away with the plate

Re: Need Help C notching my truck
Not sure what you mean. I had to grind off the rivets. I then used a template to cut out the notch. After, it was just a matter of drilling a few extra holes to bolt on the c-notch plate. I don't remember seeing any plate. I actually welding around the notch in after bolt just to help support it better (not sure if it was necessary).

Re: Need Help C notching my truck
This is the plate I am talking about. I had planned on just chopping it off but This side has my brake hose coming out of it. I know the bottom rivets have to go but does this plate go too or does it stay.

Don't mean to be insulting, but are you sure you're putting the notch in the right place?

NO, do not cut the rivets or the plate off. It stays. You will wind up having to trim the plate to fit the notch.
Click on my link in my sig. I'm sure you will see what needs doing. The notch will sit exactly where your old bump stop bracket is. It will be cut out. |

Re: Need Help C notching my truck
Yes...i believe that's correct. The plate stays on...teh outer portion of the plate the sticks outside the frame will need to be trimmed. After , the c notch should fit right over it.
