I thought this would be a simple after supper project just run a wire to the choke on my Edelbrock carb, I then saw this blue wire kind of wrapped out of the way and wondered what it could be? I have added pictures. I was then going to hook up the choke and it has 2 places for wires ! Any help would be appreciated...

do you have idiot lights or gauges. That looks like the connector that should attach to the oil sending unit. The sender will be screwed into the block near the distributor.

As for the choke housing, one post is for ground, other is for ignition sourced 12 volts. Can't tell you what wire is for. Check a wiring diagram. Also, check with your multimeter or voltmeter to see if it is 12 volts constant or 12 volts ignition or less than 12 volts altogether. If it is supplying 12 volts only when the ignition switch is turned to on, then try using it to power the choke, should work fine.

That's the same color as the wire that goes to my oil pressure sender.

I have gauges and the oil pressure gauge works but I bet that was the wire from the original 6, and they used a different one for the 350. There is no power to the wire.

I have run 12 volts ignition from my fuse box to a oem style junction block on my firewall and run a few ignition sourced accessories off that. You could do that for the choke power wire and then have a stable source of ignition 12 volts.

THANKS EVERYONE !!! I cannot imagine trying to do the things I want to do without the support of this group. I have forgotten a lot of stuff in the last 58 years.....
