IDing transfer case

I have a divoced transfer case that need a seal but I don't know what it is exactly. It's IN a 64 chevy but is not original to the truck. I don't see any numbers on the case itself but all of the endcaps seem to bear numbers. How would I go about IDing it so I can get a new seal?

Jerry, I believe your right. I did a google search on the Rockwell t221 and what I found does look like mine. I even found a page on ovewrhauling one which covers changing the output shaft seal specifically (which is what I need to do). It is as straight forward as I thought but experience has taught me that things aren't always as easy as they SHOULD be so now I try to check first.

j.kirn, thanks. I just need the rear output shaft seal and bearing cap gasket. I'll check with my local parts guy in the morning and if he can't get them, I'll call Novaks. Thanks agian.

If I recall the bearing retainer on the back of the t-case above the rear output (above the speedometer cable) is aluminum. I had to replace mine once Back in the early 70's). I bet one would be pretty hard to find today.

The big problem with these t-cases is the rear output comes out so low and it is easy to mess up your driveshaft. They are probably hard to find now.
