Re: bought a mirror, need some help
Assuming you're talking about the stock type mirror which attaches to the door with 3 screws holding the arm - the particular brand of mirror head I have has 3 screws surrounding the ball stud on the mounting side of the mirror. These can be tightened or loosened from sloppy to immovable.
Your brand may or may not have this type of adjustment. If it doesn't, I'd send it back if possible. I am not aware of any viable means to correct a loose mirror stud. I've seen silicone smeared around the ball stud but it doesn't work and looks crappy. I had the same experience with a peep mirror I bought from JC Whitney years ago. I had several original peep mirrors, some 40 years old that were still tight. The brand new version flopped around like a universal joint and ended up in the trash. It was too cheap to spend the money returning. |
