Post cool!!! a classic truck guy just stopped by and asked questions about my 4x4!!!

that was so cool!! i have my 4x4 sitting in the driveway finally and this guy pulled up in a burgundy 64 Chevy, and i walked over and he said what ya doing to it? and i said just trying to figure out what i need to redo the brakes. he asked what all id done to it and i told him sanded the frame, put the body on and put a motor in (compressed version, lol)and told him all that was leaft was paint and brakes. he said so i guess you wouldnt be interested in trading it or selling it, i told him no dont think so. then he asked about my blue one and i told him i mighjt it, id have to think about it and i got his name and number if i decide to. i started the 4x4 (his eyes got HUGE)then we talked about our motors some and it started raining so he leaft (delivers paper)
that was the first time it has happened to me, anybody else?

About a month after I bought mine, some dumba$$ told me he'd give me $50 for my truck. I told him that I just got it, had been looking for one for over a year and I paid considerably (80 X's) more than that. He said that everyone he knew with a 1st Gen K-5 had been looking for their's for years. He knew what it was and how much it was worth, but he was hoping to get a deal. I guess I can't blame the guy for trying, can I?

It is the best when that happens. Makes you feel proud. I always see people on the road gazing at my truck, (but its not hard to miss) as they pull up next to me their gaze goes towards the front emblems to see if its got a V8. then they do a double take and see its says 8-454. Thats one of the many reasons for having a big block.

When i first got mine all my neighbors woudl ask and such, had a few more people stop by when i started sanding/painting the thing. Now i have like the whole neighborhood stop by and tell me how good it looks etc, had a few people ask me for car help and others ask if i wanted to buy some of the vehicles they had. Fun times and great trucks, makes life a little sweeter.

I was at Walmart the other day and guy was asking me about the color of my truck. It is bright orange and he wanted to know if it was original.I told him no.He then told me that I could probably sell it for $10,000.I told him to give me $5000 and he could make a profit. He didn't have the money. So I guess I'll hold out for now.

Whenever i see someone driving a 67-72 stopped at a gas station or whatever, i usually say "Nice truck, is it a '71?" or whatever year it is. We will talk about these trucks for a minute. Most of the people that drive them are pretty cool, and proud to drive an old Chevy. I have had several people ask to buy my truck, and i usually tell them that it's not for sale.

Recently I was driving to pick up one of my daughters. Pulled into the parking lot and this HUGE 78 or 79 Ford pulls in beside me. He jumps out and invites me to go muddin sometime with him and his friends which was kinda cool. He was running 38.5"s with about 10" of lift. Chevy 1 ton axles front and rear. It was a pretty sweet rig.

My daughter came out and immediately pointed out that this guys truck was bigger than mine - mental note - have talk with daughter about this incident. I'm sure she didn't mean to hurt my feelings

Cool

EVERY TIME I STOP!!! It's cool though I like it. First ? is can you drive it that low, then they wanna know all about the suspension and how it works and rides ect. I like it I could talk trucks for hours. hehe Oh and ? #2 is always how do you get in without handles. I step back hit the button on the keychain and the door pops open, that usually trips em out. hehe
