Anyone use an underdash brake booster/master cylinder??
We are experiencing clearance issues with the Vortech blower and the OEM style booster and master. Clearance prohibits the smaller boosters and hydroboost as well. I was told to research the under dash, 90 degree mount, 7" dual. Has anyone used one of these with our style truck? If so, are there any under dash conflicts? How close is the steering column?

Re: Anyone use an underdash brake booster/master cylinder??
Do you mean under the floor? I have seen under the floor mounted masters and boosters for hot rods since those guys really like the smooth firewall look. They bolt backwards (facing the rear of the vehicle) to the frame and the pedal comes through the floor. I have not heard of any problems with that setup, except you need to run residual valves in the front and rear lines to prevent the fluid from flowing back into the master. Check our the hot rod suppliers like Southern Rods.

I think it was XXL that mounted his 90 deg. under the dash.

Scott's HotRods in Oxnard, CA? I did not see anything on their website except an under floor booster that mounts to the frame as I mentioned above.

Yes, the under dash unit is correct. Is the blue truck a 67-72 series? That will definitely give us enough clearance. I checked Scott's but did not see the booster at all. Looks like their site is under construction. Any other ideas?

you will need to call them, they can send u pics and details. Also there is a thread on here about it, do a search for frame mounted brake booster or something like that. Its a pretty long thread.

Stunna, u posted that you had a booster but that it was not installed. Have you made any progress? I need to get one and install it. Anyone else install an under dash brake booster?

Re: Anyone use an underdash brake booster/master cylinder??
I posted a thread of what you are after as well.
So maybe one of the vendors will chime in here after the holiday weekend and help us both out!

Re: Anyone use an underdash brake booster/master cylinder??
I checked the previous link and saw the under dash system installed. It looks like a really nice, well constructed piece. The only problem is that, when installed, it prohibits the wiper motor from being installed! I don't want to give up wipers at this point, so what other alternatives are there?
