Is this 71 worthy to restore?
I found a 71 that is being sold for $500. I don't have good pictures of it but they owner said it has rocker panel rust, but the frame is good. The motor is a 292 6cyl. Are these good motors? Do they make a "ticking" noise that so many 6 cyl. do? How good is a 400 turbo auto tranny? (sorry, i know nothing!).
Any more advice? Thanks for all the help. Enjoy the day! Joe |

What are your skills? For 500 you will need to do a significant amount of body work and mechanical work to get a nice ride. If you are paying for all that I hope you have really deep pockets. My personal thoughts are to buy the best, most complete sub you can afford so you can drive it while you piddle around with the small things.

Thanks long roof. Yep, not much skills with the welding but I've got a few years before the boys will start driving. I can pay for the welding and do some of the things myself.
Thanks. |
