Question Any ideas on what this cylinder thing is?

I can't find this thing referenced in my shop manual anywhere. My buddy's '77 doesn't have it. Any ideas on what it is?

Thanks!

It's a vacuum reserve for a/c equipped trucks.

Ah ha! I thought it might have to do with the old AC unit. Most of it has been removed anyway.

I'll just clean up the firewall a bit

Thanks for the reply!
