rear end question

i was wondering i have 86 chevy 2wd and was wanting to beef up the rear end will a 12 bolt rear end out of a 73-81 bolt right up. it has 5*5 bolt pattern but was wondering bout the shock and u bolt mounts if they were the same. here is the link to the item in mind and is that a good price for the rear end. is it worth swapping and what is a good economic gear to put in it.

Re: rear end question

There is no advantage over your 10 bolt, but YES it is a perfect swap.

Re: rear end question

Try a 3.08 if you want economy, 3.42 for general purpose, and 3.73 for best performance but less mileage.
