Alternator
I have a 71 Chevy, and I want to install an alternator with a built in voltage regulator. My question is what is the proper wiring for this?

There has been a lot of discussion about this, how are you wired now??? I have a new alternator installed, but I haven't disabled my old voltage regulator yet, some day I will. But for now it works fine.

I can't run a voltmeter or ammeter with my alt wired like this because I can't shut my engine off (still haven't figured that one out).....I just ran a wire from the battery to the bat terminal on the alt, and the red wire from the alt plug to the bat terminal, left the white wire open. Charges fine.
