Re: $40K Trip to Hot August Nights

Actually Champion was WAY HIGH on their price. My Wife is scouwering the Internet and still wants to take a Test Drive in a 6Cyl Automatic and a Manual (if they make it). She wants to be informed. Shes also looking at building her own through GM and/or waiting until January, because there are some people that are eaither loosing their Jobs and turning them in or they want the V-8. We were able to find the same model/Color Camaro that she test drove at Champion, for about $5K LESS in the Bay Area.

Re: $40K Trip to Hot August Nights

They did well with the car, but had they gotten off their DUMB A**ES and released it in 2005 with the newly redesigned Mustake, maybe they wouldn't be as far in the red as they are! Now, it's almost like "Ok, guys, the retro thing is about 2 years from being totally played out. Now what are you going to do?"

Not to rain in anyones parade but that car will be just like the chargers & mustangs, they will depreciate as quickly as anything else. I am at even keel with it not crazy about it but dont hate it either. For 40k there are other things that I can do that will be a hell of alot cooler, faster and wont depreciate....but to each it's own...

Agreed. I NEVER liked ANY of the other Camaro body styles. I REALLY like this new one. I'm starting to see them on the road. I wonder how they perform with a V8 and a straight stick?

I got news for you, everything depreciates as soon as you drive it off the lot....and I promise you that it will be worth more in 12 months time than my 70 "Frame Off" truck I'm doing...which is costing about the same....You do certain things and buy certain things becaues you love it....not for any other reason!

I hate negative comments like this when someone is really stoked about something they purchased....easier just to keep them comments to yourself...

I love the Camaro....and have been a big fan of them my whole life....Congrats dude!

RU Serious....The 69 Camaro is arguably one of the the best body styles ever designed...Here's my old RS/SS - 396

I got to ride in one of the early production ones. I don't remember what size the engine was but I think it was 425 HP and it had the 6 speed manual. The runway was damp that morning so the guy took off from a rolling start. Before I knew what happened we were at 117 MPH and he was still in 4th gear... It was a single lane abandon runway and it wasn't very long so he had to get out of it. I thought to myself, WOW!

Buddy I got news for you I will say anything that I want when I want wether it is agreeing or disagreeing. It is his money and I am glad he is happy I did not say anything negative go back and proof read.
I do agree that people buy things just because we can God only knows the fortune I spend on toys. The belly button 67-69 camaro are way over rated but thats a whole other discussion to each it's own.

So resume back to the "$40K Trip to Hot August Nights" thread.....
