what is the correct finish for door hinges and latches?

Cutting in the doors to assemble to cab...wondering what the correct finish is for the door hinges...body color or? The pics I've seen of original trucks, the latches/strikers look to have a phosphate finish...anyone know of the correct finishes?
Thanks,
SC

Hinges should be body color....and from what I found out the latches & strikers should be Silver Cadium Dichromate.....Eastwood makes a rattle can that is called Silver Cad and is suppose to duplicate it quite well....I chose to have mine powder-coated just a basic silver color....

Here is the Eastwood stuff...

Re: what is the correct finish for door hinges and latches?

I agree on the hinges being body color, but the strikers and latches are not as silver as the eastwood stuff, they are more dark grey/ black oxide color (think nos out of the wrapper) I left my stuff as it should be stock and got hammered for it at the last show I attended w/ my bb truck as the judges liked the "painted and finished" parts better, so my advice is do what you like as those who will be judging have not a clue as to what is right especially in a all stock class.

I use Krylon Dull Aluminum for a cad plated look.
