1960 chevy stepside and a 6.2

hello im in the process of putting together a 1960 chevy stepside and I got this one truck for free and it has a 6.2 diesel in it wit a 700r4 thinking bout putting it in the 60 wat u guys think and any other ideas would be nice

I think that would be pretty cool. but alot of work but then again thats what these trucks are. lol

I'd like to see that. One of those 6.2's would be sweet. from what i hear they lack power. But thats just what i have heard.

I have a friend that has a Suburban with a 6.2 and that's what he says too.....they aren't much for power but they get pretty good mileage, around 20mpg. Of course he is a truck driver too, so it's hard to know what he calls 'not much power'

I say if it runs decent, go for it. Just be prepared if you need a starter or injection pump. Seems like they are $$$$$$$

I had thought about putting a 6.5 turbo diesel in my '66 C30, but haven't run across one for cheap.
