Correct number and letter stamps for vin #

So as not to jack the rivet post I'll throw this out separately. As I noted on that post my tag off my door post with the vin is so painted over and beat up that it isn't really recognizable as the tag except for the rivet holes and the vin stamped in it.

That said, does anyone know who sells the proper number an letter stamps to stamp the vin in a replacement tag from one of the vendors?

I have stamps but they are not correct for the application.

I would be surprised if you find anyone selling the correct font stamps because of the potential for "problems" if they got in the wrong hands.

I took my new re-popped tag to the local mall and had the girl that engraves those key chains and rings to do it. It looks real professional, whats this about the correct font? Those numbers were done some 60 years ago!

I guess the U.S. have tighter spec's for this stuff, do they have a chart for the different years and manufacturers? How can they tell the difference?
