Just wondering how many have these installed on our era of trucks and thoughts of them. Been interested in them since i saw them on gearz. Pics and install info would be great too.

i bought my truck with them on and never got to know the difference in ride quality but mine are great.it is a 3" drop and the drop pocket is REALLY low and the aligning the vehicle is a little more involved but managable. i dont have build pics but this is the closes i could find right now.

Those cups do hang down pretty low.
Anyone else have an opinion?

I have them on my 72' C10 as well and they have been great, the upper arm allowed mine to align with the factory shims (camber) (I might just be lucky though) The pocket does hang down pretty low and they are not ideal for running air bags (if you plan on that) Also I dont that my sway bar mounts have ever been right either, the top of the end link bushings hit the crossmember fairly easily for me anyway. I have pics on my build thread, if you need more info just ask.

What is suppose to be the main difference between using these or a drop spindle?

A 3" shorter coil spring will do the same thing for less money. (Summit brand is around $89) Also no low clearance spring pocket to worry about.
A drop spindle would be a better choice. No geometry change, in addition to,... no low clearance spring pocket to worry about.

I have them and the dropped spring pocket is not an issue at all. I'm running a 2" drop spring with the arm for a 5" total drop. No geometry issues. Aligned and drives like a dream. I will say though when they say no more than a 2" drop spring they mean it. I started with a 3" and it was pretty scary. The 2" brought the front up a tad but corrected all the alignment problems. I only went with these because I kept my 6 lug drums for now and will do the disc swap and dropped spindle down the road. This was the best and almost only way for me to get my 5" drop in the front.

If you are running long tube headers though.....get out your torch and your ball peen hammer for clearance.
