Re: Woodward in a 58 Apache! Thanks Everybody!
Good time cruise.....
as a note your speedo might just need some graphite to lube the cable up and stop the speedo dance.

Re: Woodward in a 58 Apache! Thanks Everybody!
Ok, gonna take the cluster out 2morrow night and have a peak at the internals, I ran some graphite down the cable and hooked it up tonight to check again and its makes this god awful squealing noise at times and sits at zero and bounces to up to truck speed and back down every few seconds. Its actually been handy to keep gas in the tank, I will hook it up which keeps my other half from driving it cause she can't take the noise!!

Re: Woodward in a 58 Apache! Thanks Everybody!
good chance the little cable in there that drives your speedo is broken. the squeal is the 2 end rubbing together inside the outer cable. Before cracking open your gauge cluster, remove the cable from both ends. Try turning the inner cable from one end while holding the other end. if it doesnt all move together - there you go - broken inner cable.
