Re: WTB: original 1972 alternator
I posted for a 63 amp alternator, but it may also be stamped as a 61 amp, looking in my GM book and it shows a 61 amp and a 63 amp.
dazza, let me know what you got. bcowanwheels, I may be doing some trading with dazza, but I'll keep you in mind, do you happen to know what part #'s you have. I may want one of yours alts. also. I tend to buy 2 of everything just for spares. thanks, LUCKTRUCK |

Re: WTB: original 1972 alternator
Well, I don't know if you're looking for one to rebuild because you like to tear things apart, but I have a remanufactured 63amp, nice and clean ready to mount.
When mine went out(almost two years ago) I bought this one only to realize mine had a 94amp in it. Never got around to returning it, so there it has been sitting, awaiting a new home. I noticed it squeaks when the fan is turned clockwise but not the opposite. I forget which way it rotates with the engine running. So if we do work something out and there was a problem with it, I wouldn't have an issue with taking it back and giving you $$. I don't see a part number on it, maybe you could tell me where I should be looking? BTW, here's a good link as to the different models and how to decipher them. http://www.madelectrical.com/electri...elcoremy.shtml .daz
