Does anyone know how to remove the front bearing from a M-21? I have been told I will have to remove all the guts to get it out. Any help? thanks

Re: Muncie M-21 front bearing ??

I've never done a Muncie M-21 but I have pulled a lot of front brgs. on various trans. without tearing them down especially SM465's. Pull the retainer coller & the snap ring or nut that holds the brg. to the shaft. Wiggle the shaft & brg. out a little & put a brg. seperator behind the snap ring around the outside of the brg. Use a puller to pull the brg with the separator. If you dont have this equipment you can put some square tools behind the snap ring & tap the shaft back with a brass drift. Then pull the shaft out again & use a larger square slowly working the brg. off. Tap the new brg. on with the brass drift.
