Needs some ideas for Period Correct Wheels
I've been tossing around the idea of putting back some different wheels on my truck. Someone here had said 'Keep the old trucks old' and that kinda stuck with me. So what are some wheels that were correct for the time 81-87?
I like the Vette Ralleys but those are more fitting for the 70's IMO. I could always got with the factory steel but I wanted to get some ideas as to what was popular as far as an aftermarket wheel during the early-mid 80's. |

Probably Centerlines, champ 500's, or Weld Drag Lites.
For the 70's trucks, slotted mags are good. I have a weird attachemnt to them for some reason. |

I think you can't go wrong with the truck rallies with a small white wall. I don't think black was an option, but it looks good still. I run 7s in the front and 8s in the back.

Re: Needs some ideas for Period Correct Wheels
Since you went with a tall tire/wheel combo this time, I will assume you want that look again. With that said, here's my favorite-

I love the old school aluminum slots, I love those wheels, or some nice Keystone Classic's

Re: Needs some ideas for Period Correct Wheels
I love the slots! But again I think they're more of a 70's wheel...
Ken, I think I want to go low profile this time.. maybe a 2/4 drop too.. low and wide. I like those wheels though... any idea on where to find a set? I like the gold color too.. that might look good on blue. |

Re: Needs some ideas for Period Correct Wheels
even paint them body color between the spokes. good eye on the tire size! they are futura super sports. kind of a cheapo pepboys tire but they last a long time when you keep getting them pro rated.
i just seen an ad in this months truckin from wheel vintecs 17-20" stock rally replicas. they look so sweet!

Re: Needs some ideas for Period Correct Wheels
I remember back in the day everybody had the steel modular wheels, and you can still buy them new cheap. You've also gotta run the white letters out.

Re: Needs some ideas for Period Correct Wheels
just got back! the mag was sport trucks page 66 or so and they were Wheel Vintiques. 16-20" rallys. with a rally center cap.
http://www.wheelvintiques.com/pdfs/41-47_billet_pt1.pdf here they are but w/ a different style cap. a little over 1/2 way down.
