Re: 4x4 leaf spring brakets on 2wd frame????
Yes and no...
the front spring hangars/core support brackets will bolt on.. the front spring rear hangers/shackle brackets will need all the holes drilled.. The rear spring front hangers take a bit of engineering as the 2WD frame "bows" out over the rear end housing and the 4X4 frames are straight which make the front hangars offset on one end. you will need to space out the front of the hangers to get it to sit straight, Or cut and shorten the back side of it.. the rear spring rear hangers will just need the holes drilled. |

Re: 4x4 leaf spring brakets on 2wd frame????
I thought about doing this myself, but with trying to find all the hangers and making the mods to the 2wd frame, I think its quicker and easier (maybe cheaper) to try and find a Burb 4x4 frame. There are also cross member differences.
Or do what I did and get a long bed truck 4x4 frame and convert it to fit a burb,..not that hard. Also 4x4 truck frames are more readily available. You'll need to install a couple of different body mount brackets and suburban rear frame horns (2x or 4x) to make the Burb fit on it. Check out my project build if you want to see how I did it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=313438 |
