Exclamation Production numbers on 2wd gmc blazer and grill swaping

I want to know what it takes to change a 1970 chevy grill back to a 1970 gmc grill. I also wanted to find out if someone knows the break down on the vin number for the gmc blazers? Is the 2wd gmc blazers or jimmys?
Thanks
Anthony

Re: Production numbers on 2wd gmc blazer and grill swaping

Anthony, all GMCs are Jimmys! All chevys are Blazers.

I've read that there are no production numbers for GMC, something to do with a big fire that distroyed the factory logs.

Do a search or look in the FAQs, you will find the production numbers for the Blazers.

You up in the SAC area? There is Blazer for sale on Craigslist, looks like your avatar. Sweet looking rig. I'd be interested, unfortunately out of my price range.

Re: Production numbers on 2wd gmc blazer and grill swaping

Thank you and yes it was the one up in Sac. It is a factory 2wd 1970 GMC Jimmy with a chevy grill and tail gate. I was just trying to find out how to brake down the vin number to get more info on this Jimmy. I have read on the forum there was about 1 Jimmy for every 3 Blazers made.

i think i read they only made like 1500 2wd drive blazers in 1970 as far as the grille you will need a new cor support grille and fenders
