4/6 drop whos kit?

What kits is everyone running? I see a lot of people piecing kits from various companies together.

Anyone running one companies stuff?

I want to get 4/6 drop springs and spindles, shocks, shock relocation brackets, C notch, rear track bar, and anything else anyone recommends.

This is on a 72 truck so it already has disc brakes

Re: 4/6 drop whos kit?

I am running mostly McGauphys stuff. Every thing except for my 2 inch rear blocks and my C notch and track bar. That all came from CPP. I am 5/7 though

Re: 4/6 drop whos kit?

Use ECE. (Early Classic Enterprises)
They can fix you up with a complete kit.

The only thing they don't sell is the bolt-in c-notch. That's not required with a 6" rear drop anyway.

Re: 4/6 drop whos kit?

- most of the stuff for my 2wd Blazer is from ECE - the only thing that might not be is the front stock height springs - but not sure if I will buy those yet - I might need them...

ECE 4" rear drop spings
ECE KYB drop shocks
ECE Rear Shock Relocators
ECE 2.5" front drop spindles
ECE Adjustable Panhard Bar

Re: 4/6 drop whos kit?

I've only ridden in my own, and I used the ECE kit. But make sure that you leave your factory bump stops in on the back, the frame will bottom out otherwise.

Re: 4/6 drop whos kit?

My 2.5/4.0 drop is ECE. Add an inch to the front with their lowering springs. Out back, going 5-inches or more may mean that you should consider their crossmember, which relocates the mount for the rear trailing arms as well as provides holes for the exhaust system to be routed. A track bar is a given. ECE has been really great for technical assistance.

Same old song and dance... look no further than ECE. Their prices, parts, and service is comparable to none.

Here's a shot my recently lowered (4.5/6), disc brake upgraded (6-lug rotors), '69 SWB. Check out the build thread in my signature for pictures of the install (Project: Blank Slate)

Mine did, I decided to raise it back up due to it always hitting the frame.

I dont know how. Granted I am at 7 inches but I would be almost sitting on my frame without it.I mean less than an inch I really would not like my rear end slamming into my frame all the time. Plus I know ECE has a great rep for customer service but I am a numbers guy. I wouldnt spend 5 dollars more as long as the quality was the same.

I agree, you might pay a little more but the customer service is bar none!!! I had gotten 5" springs for the rear and did not like the stance and they set me a set of 6" springs and took the 5" back, just had to pay shipping! Cant say enough about ECE!!!

I just measured mine earlier today, and I'm 2.5" (roughly) from the axle tube to the frame, and roughly 4" (probably more like 3.75") from the top of the pumpkin to the bed floor.

While I am with you on attempting to spend money wisely, for the fact that I didn't have to question if I was missing pieces when they arrived; I was notified that one box would be late due to not having the pieces in at that moment (when the others shipped) and knowing that I could talk with someone about any issue I had, without second guessing their opinion.... my money went to ECE.

Just my $.03... but with everyones rants/raves with CPP, I didn't want to chance the install being hung up.

Enough said... ECE all the way!

Re: 4/6 drop whos kit?

I have never had any issues with CPP. Every time I hear of problems, it is always wrong parts sent, bad customer service. I get great customer service at the counter, and always walk out with the right parts. They have a nice shop, and even let my 3 yr old run around and touch stuff while I am at the counter. I buy from them because they are right down the street from me. Every local that I saw at Brothers truck show uses them also and loves them. I guess they suck at mail orders If I bought from ECE, I would have to pay shipping and sales tax as I am in California. If ECE would nix one or the other, I would try buying from them as I hear from people on the board that they are great.

Just my .02
