Can a 87 vette a/c system fit my 79?
I am pulling my dash out and making one out of fiberglass. I am using a 87 corvette for all of my parts. I am already using the digital dash and was wondering if i could swap out the whole A/C setup somehow. I should be able to just modify the hole in the firewall and put the interior side in like it would be in the vette right? I figure the engine side of the A/C system should be fine as i am using the motor and serpentine from the same car. Might have to tweak the plastic housing a little bit but i am thinking that this might work. Am I just crazy or does this sound like it might work?
I was also thinking of mounting the controls in the headliner to keep the dash clean. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Thanks -Bryan |

Anything can be done but will it be worth it? I dont remember corvette A/C working better than a truck. if you decide to do this we want pictures.

I am not really worried about which one works better as my windows usually double as my air conditioning. I am mainly looking to swap the compressor since it is already setup for the serpentine and to go an electric controls.

All I know if your going from a non A/C truck it will be cheaper and easier in the long run to just source the correct parts.
